To safely connect alternating-current power facilities to operate in parallel, it is necessary to minimize the equalizing currents that flow at the moment of connection. Therefore, the following conditions must be met: equal voltage amplitudes, equal voltage frequencies, consistent directions of voltage vector rotation and consistency of the phase angle between the vectors of connected voltages. The above conditions are controlled and the moment to perform the connection task is selected by automatic or semi-automatic synchronizers, while the former also perform the functions of voltage and frequency regulation.
